Focus of Practice
Michael DeLeo has an active business practice focusing on creditor and debtor rights, receiverships, bankruptcy, and construction. Mikes clients include national and local commercial lenders, trade creditors, receivers, as well as contractors, developers, subcontractors, and suppliers to the construction industry. In addition to his law practice, Mike has an active mediation practice. Although Mike routinely mediates complex business disputes and construction matters, he has also helped mediation participants successfully resolve property damage and personal injury claims (some of which involve confounding insurance coverage issues), and creditor and debtor disputes.
Legal Experience
Mike is involved in addressing legal issues covering virtually every aspect of business and banking law. He is a Subchapter V of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Trustee, appointed by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the U.S. States Trustee. In the construction industry, Mike represents contractors, developers, subcontractors, and trade creditors in all aspects of their businesses. Mike completed 40 hours of mediation training offered by Pepperdines Caruso School of Law, Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution mediation training.
